SEE ALSO...

Adipsin Antibody (D10/4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Adipsin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Adipsin antibody (D10/4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Adipsin, also known as complement factor D, is a serine protease that plays a crucial role in the complement system, specifically in the activation of the alternative pathway. This protein is primarily secreted by adipose tissue, where Adipsin is involved in the regulation of energy homeostasis and inflammation. Adipsin (D10/4) antibody helps researchers study how Adipsin cleaves complement factor B when complexed with activated complement component C3, which is essential for the formation of the C3 convertase enzyme complex. This process is vital for the immune response, as Adipsin helps to enhance opsonization and clearance of pathogens. Interestingly, while Adipsin is highly expressed in healthy adipose tissue, Adipsin levels are significantly reduced in obese individuals, suggesting a potential link between Adipsin expression and metabolic disorders. Understanding the function and regulation of Adipsin can provide insights into obesity and related diseases, making Adipsin monoclonal antibody (D10/4) a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical areas.

Can Adipsin (D10/4): sc-47683 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, Adipsin (D10/4): sc-47683 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
