ADAMTS-8 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ADAMTS-8 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ADAMTS-8 Antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ADAMTS-8, also known as METH-2, plays a crucial role in the regulation of extracellular matrix components and is involved in processes such as tissue remodeling and angiogenesis, which are vital for normal physiological functions and the progression of diseases like cancer and arthritis. Structurally, ADAMTS-8 features a unique combination of a metalloproteinase domain, disintegrin-like domain, and multiple Thrombospondin type 1 motifs, which contribute to enzymatic activity and ability to interact with various substrates in the extracellular matrix. The presence of these Thrombospondin motifs is particularly important as they facilitate binding to the extracellular matrix, influencing cell adhesion and migration. ADAMTS-8 is predominantly expressed in adult and fetal lung tissues, with lower expression levels found in the heart, placenta, stomach, brain, and kidney, highlighting potential significance in lung development and function.

Are there any issues with using sc-514717: ADAMTS-8 (G-4) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-514717 conjugates.
