ADAMTS-2 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ADAMTS-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ADAMTS-2 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ADAMTS-2, a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain with thrombospondin type-1 modules) family, plays a crucial role in collagen biosynthesis by cleaving propeptides of Collagen Type I and II, which is essential for proper assembly of collagen fibrils. This function is particularly important as collagen is a key structural protein in various tissues, contributing to their strength and integrity. ADAMTS-2 is secreted and predominantly associated with the extracellular matrix, with highest expression levels found in skin, bone, tendon, and aorta. Defects in ADAMTS2 gene can lead to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type VIIC, a connective tissue disorder characterized by severe skin fragility and joint hypermobility, highlighting ADAMTS-2′s significance in maintaining connective tissue health.
