ADAM33 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ADAM33 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ADAM33 (A-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ADAM33, known as a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain 33, is a crucial member of the ADAM protein family, characterized by membrane-anchored proteins sharing structural similarities with snake venom disintegrins. ADAM33 plays significant roles in various biological processes, including cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, vital for functions such as fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. ADAM33 functions as a type I transmembrane protein implicated in asthma and bronchial hyperresponsiveness, highlighting importance in respiratory health. ADAM33 gene undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms, and shows expression in adult mouse brain, suggesting a role in complex processes requiring effective cell-cell communication. Predicted proteins for mouse and human consist of 797 and 813 amino acids respectively, sharing approximately 70% amino acid sequence identity. Mouse ADAM33 gene is located at a single gene locus, while human ADAM33 maps to chromosome 20p13 and consists of 22 exons, underscoring evolutionary conservation and functional significance across species.
