SEE ALSO...

ACTR-I Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ACTR-I protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACTR-I (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACTR-I protein plays a crucial role in the signaling pathways of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily, which is essential for regulating various cellular processes such as gene expression, cell differentiation, and morphogenesis. ACTR-I protein interacts with type II receptors to form a heteromeric complex that is vital for the activation of downstream signaling cascades. This interaction is particularly important in the brain, where both receptor types are highly expressed, influencing neural development and function. ACTR-I protein′s ability to mediate distinct effects based on ligand concentration underscores its significance in cellular communication and the potential implications in developmental biology and disease states.

Is this antibody specific to both of activin recepter 1A and 1B?

Asked by: Munkhtuul
Thank you for your question. Yes, this ACTR-I (C-5) antibody, sc-374523, was raised against a peptide mapping at the N-terminus of ACTR-I of human origin (accession#Q04771), so it will detect receptors containing that section of the protein.

Is it possible to use this antibody for IHC (paraffin embedded horse tissue)?

Asked by: Munkhtuul
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested in horse and so that is not a recommended species at this time. Based on sequence homology, however, it should be able to pick up horse ACTR-1. We are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374523 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly potent and specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was extremely strong detection of the ~82 kDa target protein in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested.
