ACSVL6 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ACSVL6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACSVL6 (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACSVL6, a member of the acyl-coenzyme A synthetase (ACS) family, plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism by catalyzing the activation of long-chain and very long-chain fatty acids, which is essential for their subsequent utilization in various metabolic pathways. ACSVL6 is part of a larger family characterized by their preference for different fatty acid chain lengths, with ACSVL6 specifically classified under the very long-chain acyl-CoA synthetases. The ACSVL family, which includes six members identified as solute carrier family 27A (SLC27A) gene products, is vital for the transport of fatty acids across the plasma membrane, facilitating their entry into cells for energy production and biosynthesis. Unique expression patterns of ACSVLs in key organs such as adipose tissue, liver, heart, and kidney highlight their importance in maintaining metabolic homeostasis and energy balance.
