SEE ALSO...

ACSS1 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ACSS1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACSS1 Antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACSS1, also known as acyl-CoA synthetase short-chain family member 1, is a 689 amino acid enzyme localized in the mitochondrial matrix and is a member of the ATP-dependent AMP-binding enzyme family. ACSS1 plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the ATP-dependent conversion of acetate and coenzyme A to acetyl-CoA, which is essential for the oxidation of acetate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, thereby contributing to energy production in cardiac tissues. ACSS1 is expressed as two alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on chromosome 20, which comprises approximately 2% of the human genome and contains over 600 genes linked to various diseases, including Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. ACSS1′s ability to facilitate the conversion of acetate to acetyl-CoA underscores its importance in metabolic pathways, particularly in conditions where energy substrates are limited, making ACSS1 a significant target for research in metabolic disorders and cardiac function.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377149 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
