ACP1α Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the ACP1 alpha protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ACP1α antibody (A-2) is available as the non-conjugated form. ACP1α (A-2) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of phosphate esters, which is vital for maintaining cellular energy balance and signaling pathways. This enzyme, also known as red cell acid phosphatase, is involved in the regulation of intracellular concentrations of flavin coenzymes, which are essential for various biochemical reactions. The human ACP1 gene, located on chromosome 2p25, encodes two isozymes, ACP1-alpha and ACP1-beta, both of which consist of 157 amino acids but differ in a specific 34-residue segment that influences their substrate specificity. These isozymes are not glycosylated, which may affect their functional properties and interactions within the cell. Understanding the function and regulation of ACP1 alpha is important for elucidating its role in metabolic disorders and potential therapeutic targets.
