ACOT11 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ACOT11 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACOT11 (D-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACOT11, also known as acyl-CoA thioesterase 11, BFIT, KIAA0707, or THEA, is a 607 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of acyl-CoA to produce coenzyme A and free fatty acids. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis, as ACOT11 regulates the levels of fatty acids and acyl-CoAs, which are essential for various cellular functions, including energy production and signaling pathways. ACOT11 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and features one START domain and two acyl coenzyme A hydrolase domains, which are important for catalytic function. ACOT11 is expressed in multiple tissues, with two alternatively spliced isoforms found in the liver, testis, spleen, brain, lung, stomach, kidney, and uterus, highlighting diverse physiological roles.
