AChRα1 Antibody (71) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AChRα1 in mouse, rat, and bovine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). AChRα1, also known as ACHRD, CHRNA, CMS2A, FCCMS, SCCMS, or CHRNA1, is a crucial component of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor family, which plays a vital role in neurotransmission. This multi-pass membrane protein, consisting of 482 amino acids, is essential for the proper functioning of the neuromuscular junction, where AChRα1 facilitates the binding of acetylcholine and the subsequent influx of ions that trigger muscle contraction. AChRα1 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, with isoform 1 being exclusively expressed in skeletal muscle, while isoform 2 is widely distributed across various tissues, including the brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, and thymus. The diverse expression of these isoforms is significant as this pattern suggests distinct functional roles in different tissues, contributing to the complexity of synaptic transmission and muscle activation. Anti-AChRα1 antibody (71) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the dynamics of neurotransmitter signaling and the physiological implications of AChRα1 in both health and disease.
