ABCB6 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ABCB6 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ABCB6 antibody (G-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ABCB6 is a crucial member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) superfamily, which consists of transmembrane proteins that facilitate the energy-dependent transport of diverse substrates across cellular membranes. This 842 amino acid protein is particularly significant due to its role in heme synthesis and its ability to bind heme and porphyrins, thereby assisting in their ATP-dependent uptake into mitochondria. ABCB6 is up-regulated by cellular porphyrins and is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, where ABCB6 forms homodimers in the outer mitochondrial membrane, plasma membrane, and Golgi apparatus. The presence of two isoforms of ABCB6, generated through alternative splicing, further highlights the complexity and regulatory mechanisms of this protein, making ABCB6 an important target for research in cellular transport and metabolism.
