SEE ALSO...

AATM Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects AATM protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AATM (E-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Aspartate aminotransferase (AAT) is a crucial enzyme that exists in two isoforms: mitochondrial (AATM) and cytosolic (AATC). AATM plays a vital role in amino acid metabolism and the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles by catalyzing the conversion of L-aspartate and 2-oxoglutarate into oxaloacetate and L-glutamate. This enzymatic activity is essential for maintaining nitrogen balance and energy production within cells. AATM is predominantly expressed in the liver, where AATM accounts for approximately 80% of the enzyme′s activity, highlighting AATM′s significance in hepatic function. The structural similarity between AATM and AATC, despite their different expression patterns and folding rates, underscores the evolutionary conservation of their functions, while their distinct affinities for molecular chaperones, such as GroEL, may influence their stability and activity in various cellular contexts.
