AATC Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AATC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AATC monoclonal antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AATC protein, or cytosolic aspartate aminotransferase, is crucial for amino acid metabolism and plays a significant role in the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles by catalyzing the conversion of L-aspartate and 2-oxoglutarate into oxaloacetate and L-glutamate. AATC (H-8) antibody targets proteins predominantly found in the cytosol, where AATC contributes to metabolic processes essential for cellular function and homeostasis. While AATC and its mitochondrial counterpart AATM share nearly identical three-dimensional structures, AATC exhibits distinct expression patterns and folding rates, which can influence interactions with molecular chaperones such as GroEL, underscoring AATC′s importance in cellular metabolism and potential implications in metabolic disorders.
