8D6 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects 8D6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-8D6 antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. 8D6 protein, also known as 8D6A, CD320, or FDC-SM-8D6, is a single-pass type I membrane protein characterized by two low-density lipoprotein receptor ligand-binding repeats (LDL-A modules). 8D6 is predominantly expressed by follicular dendritic cells within the germinal center, where 8D6 plays a crucial role as a stimulatory signaling molecule. The interaction between follicular dendritic cells and T cells with germinal center B cells is vital for providing the necessary signals for B cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation into memory B cells and plasma cells. Disruption of this interaction can lead to apoptosis of B cells, highlighting 8D6′s importance in maintaining B cell homeostasis. Furthermore, 8D6 is essential for the generation of plasma cells from germinal center B cells, and 8D6 works in conjunction with other proteins, such as HCAM (CD44), to promote the proliferation of lymphoma cells originating from the germinal center.
