53BP2 Antibody (DX54.10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects 53BP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). anti-53BP2 antibody (DX54.10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. 53BP2 protein plays a crucial role in cellular response to DNA damage, particularly in p53-mediated tumor suppression. 53BP2 interacts specifically with the central DNA-binding domain of wild-type p53, which is essential for function in regulating cell cycle and apoptosis. 53BP2 binds to the L2 loop of p53, a region often mutated in various cancers, highlighting importance in maintaining genomic stability. 53BP2 localization is also significant; while N-terminus is found in cytoplasm, C-terminus is likely localized in nucleus, suggesting a dual role in both cytoplasmic signaling and nuclear functions related to DNA repair and cell cycle regulation. 53BP2 has been shown to induce cell death by interacting with Bcl2 and NFkB p65, underscoring potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
