4E-T Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects 4E-T protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). 4E-T (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. 4E-T protein plays a crucial role in protein synthesis regulation by facilitating nuclear import of eIF4E, a key component of eukaryotic initiation complex eIF4F, which is essential for ribosome binding to mRNA. This process is vital for proper mRNA translation into proteins, impacting cellular function and growth. The interaction between 4E-T and eIF4E occurs through a conserved binding site, critical for forming the eIF4E-importin αβ complex and enabling efficient nuclear transport. 4E-T contains a bipartite nuclear localization signal and two leucine-rich nuclear export signals, highlighting its importance in nucleocytoplasmic transport. The gene encoding 4E-T is located on human chromosome 22q11.2, demonstrating evolutionary conservation and significance across species.
