SEE ALSO...

CCDC6 Antibody (Q-23) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the CCDC6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CCDC6 antibody (Q-23) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. CCDC6, also known as coiled-coil domain containing 6, H4, PTC, TPC, or TST1, is a 585 amino acid cytoskeletal protein that plays a crucial role in cellular structure and function. CCDC6 is predominantly expressed in various tissues throughout the body and is characterized by its alpha helical conformation and a leucine zipper domain, which facilitates interaction with other proteins. Notably, CCDC6 serves as a fusion partner for the RET receptor tyrosine kinase, a proto-oncogene involved in glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor signaling, and the platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFR-β), which acts as a mitogen for mesenchyme- and glia-derived cells. CCDC6 plays a significant role in chromosomal rearrangements that can lead to oncogenic fusion events, particularly in various carcinomas such as human papillary thyroid carcinoma and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. These fusion products, which are absent in normal cells, underscore CCDC6′s importance in cancer biology and highlight CCDC6 (Q-23) antibody′s utility in research focused on understanding molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis.

Does it recognize CCDC6-RET fusion protein that includes the first 101 aa of CCDC6? Thank you!

Asked by: vjr97
thank you for your question. The antiobdy's epitope region is not within this amino acid range, so the antibody would not be able to detect that particular fragment.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with CCDC6 (Q-23): sc-100309 antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.
