MMP-3/10 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MMP-3/10 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MMP-3/10 (F-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a crucial family of peptidase enzymes that play a significant role in degrading extracellular matrix components, such as collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, laminin, and proteoglycans, which are vital for tissue remodeling and repair. MMP-3, also known as stromelysin-1, activates procollagenase, facilitating collagen breakdown through two distinct pathways: a slower direct activation by MMP-3 and a more rapid activation with other tissue or plasma proteinases. MMP-10, expressed primarily in small intestine and to a lesser extent in lung and heart, also contributes to this process, highlighting interconnected roles of these enzymes in maintaining tissue homeostasis and potential implications in pathological conditions such as cancer and fibrosis. MMP gene transcription is differentially regulated by various stimuli, including phorbol ester, lipopolysaccharide, and staphylococcal enterotoxin B, underscoring regulation complexity and function in physiological and pathological contexts.
