AP-3σ Antibody (6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AP-3 sigma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). AP-3σ (6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). AP-3 sigma protein plays a crucial role in the endocytic pathway, specifically in sorting and transport of proteins to lysosomes and other cellular compartments. AP-3 sigma protein is primarily located in the trans-Golgi network and is essential for forming clathrin-coated vesicles, which are vital for receptor-mediated endocytosis. Proper functioning of AP-3 sigma protein is important for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating levels of membrane proteins, which can impact various cellular processes, including signal transduction and nutrient uptake. AP-3 sigma protein interacts with other proteins in the AP-3 complex, such as AP-3 delta and AP-3 mu, highlighting AP-3 sigma′s significance in vesicle trafficking and cellular communication.
