    SEE ALSO...

WC1 Antibody (CC115) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects WC1 protein of ovine and caprine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). WC1 (CC115) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. WC1, a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) family, is a transmembrane glycoprotein uniquely expressed on γδ T cells, which are a significant subset of circulating lymphocytes. These γδ T cells, characterized by WC1 expression, are functionally distinct from αβ T cells and play crucial roles in immune responses. WC1 interacts with various ligands, which can modulate γδ T cell activation and proliferation, thereby influencing overall immune response. Notably, WC1 isoforms WC1.1, WC1.2, and WC1.3 are expressed on different subpopulations of γδ T cells, each contributing uniquely to immune regulation. Conserved signaling motifs in WC1′s cytoplasmic tail suggest a role as an accessory molecule that enhances cellular activation and induces cell cycle arrest, ultimately affecting cell fate through pathways that increase cellular ceramide levels. This multifaceted role of WC1 underscores its importance in the immune system, making anti-WC1 antibody (CC115) an essential tool for researchers studying γδ T cell biology and immune modulation.
