SEE ALSO...

Synapsin IIa Antibody (1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Synapsin IIa protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Synapsin IIa antibody (1) is available as a non-conjugated format. Synapsins are critical synaptic vesicle-associated phosphoproteins that play a vital role in regulating synaptic vesicle exocytosis and are implicated in synaptogenesis, which is essential for proper neuronal communication and plasticity. Synapsin IIa (1) monoclonal antibody recognizes protein primarily located in presynaptic terminals of neurons, where Synapsin IIa facilitates clustering of synaptic vesicles and their release in response to calcium influx. This localization ensures efficient neurotransmitter release during synaptic transmission, influencing synaptic strength and plasticity. Synapsin IIa interacts with various proteins, including actin and other synaptic proteins, which underscores its importance in maintaining synaptic integrity and function. Regulation by calcium and calmodulin highlights Synapsin IIa′s role in dynamic processes of synaptic activity, making Synapsin IIa a key player in intricate signaling pathways governing neuronal communication.

Can sc-136086: Synapsin IIa (1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-136086: Synapsin IIa (1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
