RNase H1 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects RNase H1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RNase H1 is a crucial cytoplasmic endonuclease that specifically degrades the RNA strand of RNA-DNA hybrids, producing 5′-phosphomonoester products, which is vital for maintaining genomic integrity and facilitating proper DNA replication and repair processes. RNase H1 activity can be inhibited by agents such as manganese ions and N-ethylmaleimide, highlighting the importance of metal ion regulation in function. RNase H1 is expressed at consistent levels across various human tissues, suggesting a role as a housekeeping protein essential for cellular homeostasis.
