    SEE ALSO...

SF4 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SF4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SF4 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SF4, also known as splicing factor 4 or RNA-binding protein, is a crucial 645 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in pre-mRNA splicing, a vital process for gene expression regulation. SF4 is predominantly expressed in the testis and heart, but is also present in skeletal muscle, brain, and kidney, where SF4 acts as an essential component of the spliceosome, the molecular machinery responsible for removing introns from pre-mRNA. The structure of SF4 includes two SURP motif repeats and one G-patch domain, which are critical for RNA processing function. The gene encoding SF4 is located on human chromosome 19p13.11, a region known for high gene density and housing numerous immunoglobulin superfamily members, which are important for immune response. Understanding SF4 structure and function is vital, as alterations in splicing mechanisms can lead to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders, highlighting anti-SF4 antibody (B-3)′s importance in research and diagnostic applications.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393016 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
