Polycystin-2 Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets Polycystin-2, also known as PKD2, with reactivity confirmed across human, rat, and mouse origins in applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Polycystin-2 is a crucial transmembrane protein involved in calcium signaling and is integral to maintaining normal kidney function, as PKD2 regulates ion transport within cells. Defects in Polycystin-2 are implicated in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), where mutations contribute to the formation of cysts within kidney tubules, leading to progressive kidney dysfunction. PKD2 localizes primarily within kidney structures like medullary and cortical collecting ducts and distal convoluted tubules and interacts with Polycystin-1 to regulate AP-1 signaling, impacting cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Through association with Hax-1, Polycystin-2 may also influence cell-matrix interactions, further supporting cellular stability and function. Polycystin-2 (D-3) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format or with multiple conjugates, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® options, allowing versatile application in detecting and studying PKD2′s role in ADPKD and other cellular processes.
