PEPT1 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PEPT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PEPT1 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PEPT1 protein, also known as solute carrier family 15 member 1, is a proton-coupled peptide transporter primarily located in the brush border membrane of the small intestine, where PEPT1 plays a crucial role in the absorption of small peptides derived from dietary proteins. This localization is significant because PEPT1 efficiently transports dipeptides and tripeptides into enterocytes, facilitating nutrient uptake and influencing overall digestive efficiency. Notably, PEPT1 does not transport free amino acids or peptides longer than three amino acids, which underscores PEPT1′s specificity and importance in nutrient absorption. PEPT1 consists of 708 amino acids and features 12 putative membrane-spanning domains, which are essential for PEPT1′s function as a transporter. Additionally, PEPT1 is implicated in various nutritional and pharmacological therapies, as PEPT1 can also transport certain peptide-like drugs, enhancing their bioavailability. The gene encoding PEPT1 is located on human chromosome 13q33-q34, highlighting PEPT1′s evolutionary conservation across species.
