    SEE ALSO...

Herc1 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Herc1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Herc1 antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Herc1, also known as p532 or p619, is one of the largest human proteins, comprising 4,861 amino acids and featuring a diverse array of functional domains such as WD repeats, RCC1 repeats, beta-repeat domains, and a HECT domain. Herc1 is crucial for cellular processes, as Herc1 is involved in membrane trafficking by acting as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for ARF1 and Rab proteins, which are essential for the regulation of vesicle transport within cells. Herc1 localization to the cytosol and Golgi apparatus underscores Herc1′s role in facilitating the movement of proteins and lipids, thereby influencing cellular communication and metabolism. Additionally, Herc1 is implicated in cell proliferation and growth through interactions with proteins like clathrin, M2-pyruvate kinase, and TSC2. Notably, mutations in TSC2 can lead to TSC2 binding with Herc1 in the presence of TSC1, resulting in TSC2 destabilization and contributing to the development of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by the formation of benign tumors in various organs.

Are there any issues with using sc-393950: Herc1 (E-12) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-393950 conjugates.
