    SEE ALSO...

Fatso Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Fatso in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fatso, also known as FTO or KIAA1752, is a 505 amino acid protein characterized by an N-terminal nuclear localization signal, which directs Fatso to the nucleus where Fatso plays a significant role in regulating energy homeostasis and fat metabolism. Fatso expression is notably high in brain and pancreatic tissues, and Fatso exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms, one of which has been linked to a predisposition for obesity in both children and adults. This connection to obesity suggests that Fatso may influence body mass index and contribute to the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes, a major health concern worldwide. The gene encoding Fatso is located on human chromosome 16, a region that harbors over 900 genes and is implicated in various genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. Anti-Fatso antibody (E-10) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying obesity and metabolic disorders, providing insights into potential therapeutic targets.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515411 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
