NECAP 2 Activators comprise a diverse group of chemical compounds that can enhance the functional activity of NECAP 2 through various specific signaling pathways. For instance, N6-cyclopentyladenosine (CPA) and Forskolin influence cAMP levels, a factor influencing clathrin-mediated endocytosis, a process involving NECAP 2. By altering cAMP levels, these compounds could indirectly enhance NECAP 2 activity. Similarly, PKC 412 and Calphostin C inhibit protein kinase C, influencing the phosphorylation state of proteins involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, a process in which NECAP 2 plays a role. By influencing these phosphorylation states, these compounds could increase NECAP 2 activity.

On the other hand, Y-27632, Blebbistatin, Wiskostatin, Jasplakinolide, Latrunculin A, and Cytochalasin D modulateactin dynamics, which is closely tied to clathrin-mediated endocytosis. For instance, Y-27632 modulates actin dynamics. Similarly, Blebbistatin inhibits myosin II, Wiskostatin targets the neural Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (N-WASP), Jasplakinolide stabilizes actin filaments, and both Latrunculin A and Cytochalasin D inhibit actin polymerization. By influencing actin dynamics, these compounds could indirectly enhance NECAP 2 activity through their effects on clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
