KIR4.1 Activators

KIR4.1 activators encompass a diverse array of chemical compounds, all capable of modulating the activity of this inwardly rectifying potassium channel. In the forefront of direct activation, compounds like VU0134992 and VU041 have shown specific activation effects on KIR4.1, increasing channel current and enhancing potassium flow. Notably, the ubiquitous metal ions like Ba2+ (Barium) and Mg2+ (Magnesium) also interact with KIR channels, with Ba2+ in particular known to amplify KIR4.1's activity.
