SEE ALSO...

Thimet oligopeptidase Antibody (4D6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Thimet oligopeptidase protein of mouse, rat, human, zebrafish, bovine, and porcine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Thimet oligopeptidase (4D6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Thimet oligopeptidase, also known as soluble metallo-endopeptidase, is a cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in the degradation of bioactive peptides, particularly neuropeptides less than 20 amino acids in length. Thimet oligopeptidase maintains peptide homeostasis and regulates neuropeptide signaling, which is vital for numerous physiological processes, including pain modulation and stress response. The gene encoding Thimet oligopeptidase is located on chromosome 19q13.3, and Thimet oligopeptidase is predominantly expressed in the testis, with detectable levels in the liver, lung, and kidney. Thimet oligopeptidase′s ability to degrade the β-Amyloid precursor protein and generate amyloidogenic fragments highlights its potential involvement in neurodegenerative diseases, making Thimet oligopeptidase a significant target for research in both basic and clinical settings.
