can I use this antibody for ICC

Thank you for your question. The conjugated forms of this antibody, sc-53993, is warrantied for IF and IHC applications, but the unconjugated form is only warrantied for WB and IP use. What is the recommended concentration for use in IHC?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using this mouse monoclonal antibody, N-Myc (B8.4.B): sc-53993, at a starting dilution of 1:50 (range of 1:50-1:500) for immunohistochemistry. Does this cross react with c-myc?

Thank you for your question. No, this mouse monoclonal antibody, N-Myc (B8.4.B): sc-53993, is specific for N-Myc and does not cross-react with c-Myc.

Would like to know the exact position of the recombinant protein used to raise this antibody. We need this info to interpret data on Cas9/Crisper gene depletion. Thanks

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the sequence of the recombinant protein used to generate this monoclonal antibody, N-Myc (B8.4.B): sc-53993, is not known. The only information describing the immunogen is that it was derived from the N-terminus of N-Myc of human origin. As an alternative, we do offer different mouse monoclonal antibodies against N-Myc where more detailed information is provided about the immunogen(s) used to develop these antibodies. For example, N-Myc (2): sc-142 with epitope mapping at residues 327-339 of N-Myc of human origin. Or N-Myc (C-4): sc-515099 specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 443-464 within the C-terminus of N-Myc of human origin.

Are there any issues in using this mouse monoclonal antibody to stain mouse tissues in IF or IHC?

Thank you for your inquiry. This antibody can be used for staining mouse tissues. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This N-Myc mouse monoclonal antibody is currently available conjugated to HRP, PE, FITC, AF488 and AF647.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good antibodyI tried a sample of this antibody and I found it works very well for WB. I made a 1:500 dilution for the detection of N-MYC in the SK-N-BE(2) cell line. I got a very strong signal and I project that I'm going to be able to work with bigger dilutions, such as 1:2000. The band appeared between 55 and 72 kDa, which conforms with the molecular weight of the protein, 67 kDa.
