MYH7 Antibody (A4.840) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects the MYH7 protein of mouse, rat, human, rabbit, and avian origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-MYH7 antibody (A4.840) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MYH7, also known as myosin heavy chain beta, plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and is primarily expressed in cardiac and slow-twitch skeletal muscle fibers. MYH7′s structure is essential for function, forming a heterohexamer with two heavy chains and two pairs of light chains, allowing for the generation of force and movement through ATP hydrolysis. Proper functioning of MYH7 is vital for maintaining cardiac muscle integrity, and mutations in the MYH7 gene are linked to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition that can lead to serious heart complications. MYH7 (A4.840) antibody enables researchers to gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle function and the pathophysiology of related diseases.

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue? Or even double or triple staining on the same samples?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is currently available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-53089 PE), fluorescein (sc-53089 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-53089 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-53089 AF647). Please contact Technical Service if you have further questions concerning this product.
