Fgl2 Antibody (4H5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Fgl2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Fgl2 antibody (4H5) is available as the non-conjugated form. Fibrinogen-like protein 2 (Fgl2), also known as fibroleukin, plays a crucial role in the immune response and is secreted by T cells, particularly in contexts where thrombosis is significant, such as viral-induced fulminant hepatitis, fetal loss syndrome, and xenograft rejection. Fgl2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm of cytotoxic T-cells, where constitutive expression allows immunosuppressive effects on T cell proliferation and dendritic cell maturation. This localization enables Fgl2 to modulate immune responses effectively, particularly in inflammatory conditions. Additionally, Fgl2 functions as a serine protease, directly cleaving prothrombin to thrombin, which is essential for the coagulation cascade. Fgl2′s ability to influence both immune and coagulation pathways underscores its importance in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including viral-induced hepatitis and Th1 cytokine-induced fetal loss syndrome.
