Elongin B Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Elongin B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Elongin B antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Elongin B protein plays a crucial role in the Elongin (SIII) complex, which regulates transcriptional elongation and participates in cellular response to hypoxia. This complex consists of three subunits: Elongin A, which is transcriptionally active, and regulatory subunits Elongin B and Elongin C. Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) protein interaction with Elongin B and C inhibits transcriptional activity of the Elongin (SIII) complex, influencing expression of genes involved in tumor suppression. Individuals with germline mutations in VHL gene are predisposed to various tumors, including renal carcinoma and hemangioblastoma, highlighting Elongin B′s importance in cancer biology and potential as a therapeutic target.
