CD24 Antibody (M1/69.16.11.HL) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects CD24 in mouse samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD24 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored membrane sialoglycoprotein predominantly expressed on pro-B, pre-B, and mature B cells, with expression diminishing following B cell activation. CD24 is also present on granulocytes and a small subset of thymocytes and neuroblastomas, but remains absent in plasma cells. CD24 plays a crucial role in regulating B cell proliferation and differentiation, making CD24 significant in both normal immune responses and hematological malignancies. In addition to B cell biology involvement, CD24 is implicated in various solid tumors, where CD24 expression can indicate disease progression. A shift from apical localization to cytoplasmic staining of CD24 serves as a surrogate marker for stromal invasion in ovarian serous tumors of borderline malignancy. As a differentiation marker for mature resting B cells, CD24 disappears upon stimulation, highlighting CD24′s importance in understanding B cell maturation and function.
