Does all sc lentivirus have the same promoters? The reason I ask is that I have seen others cited using sc lentivirus successfully in Thp-1 cells for LPL. I heard that promoter selection is crucial for Thp-1 cells.

I read the reference cited here. Is the shRNA targeting the same sequence? I want to make a stable knockdown of ABCA1 in Thp-1 cells. Does your shRNA guarantee knockdown? Does the product come with a positive control for transfection efficiency?

Thank you for your question. Yes, the ABC1 shRNA plasmid (h): sc-41136-SH is using the same target sequence as the siRNA product that is referenced in the product citation on our website. For stable knockdown, you may want to consider using the shRNA Lentiviral Particles. Please contact our Technical Service Department for more information. We do sell separately a positive control for measuring transfection efficiency, copGFP Control Plasmid: sc-108083. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/shrna-plasmid-support-products/_/N-lhyfam Santa Cruz does warranty these si/shRNA reagents to show observable knockdown at the protein level.  Santa Cruz implements computationally designed published algorithms which are demonstrated to give greater than 50% knockdown more than 90% of the time.
