MRP2 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP2 Antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP2, also known as canalicular multispecific organic anion transporter, plays a crucial role in the excretion of a wide range of endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drugs and toxins, from hepatocytes into bile. This function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and protecting the liver from potential damage caused by harmful substances. MRP2 is predominantly localized to the apical membrane of hepatocytes, where MRP2 facilitates the transport of organic anions, thereby contributing to the detoxification processes in the liver. Expression of MRP2 is constitutively high in normal liver cells, and MRP2 activity is essential for the proper clearance of various therapeutic agents, making MRP2 a significant target for studies related to drug metabolism and resistance in cancer therapy. Understanding the function and regulation of MRP2 can provide insights into the mechanisms of drug interactions and the development of multidrug resistance in cancer cells, highlighting MRP2′s importance in pharmacology and toxicology research.
