    SEE ALSO...

MMAB Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MMAB protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MMAB (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MMAB protein, also known as methylmalonic aciduria (cobalamin deficiency) type B protein or Cob(I)alamin adenosyltransferase, is a crucial mitochondrial protein predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and liver tissues. MMAB protein is integral to the biosynthesis of adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl), which serves as an essential cofactor for the enzyme methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (MUT). MMAB protein catalyzes the final step of the AdoCbl biosynthesis pathway, converting vitamin B12 into AdoCbl. AdoCbl is vital for the catabolism of various metabolites, including cholesterol, branched-chain amino acids, and odd-numbered fatty acids. Deficiencies or mutations in the MMAB gene can lead to methylmalonic aciduria type B, a condition characterized by impaired AdoCbl synthesis, highlighting MMAB protein′s critical function in metabolic processes.

What blocking solution should I use with MMAB (G-3): sc-271424 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IHC for triple negative breast cancerI tested MMAB antibody sample for triple negative breast cancer IHC. MMAB is known as a mitochondrial protein. IHC pattern staining shows that MMAB localize in mitochondria and cytosol. But it is hard to tell whether staining patter is mitochondria or cytosol.
