    SEE ALSO...

GHR Antibody (MAB 1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects growth hormone receptor (GHR) in human, ovine, and rabbit samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). GHR plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of growth hormone, which is essential for normal growth and metabolism. This integral membrane protein is a member of the cytokine receptor family and is primarily located on the surface of target cells, where GHR facilitates the binding of growth hormone, triggering a cascade of intracellular signaling pathways that promote growth and metabolic regulation. Notably, GHR exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms, with the latter known as growth hormone-binding protein (GHBP), which is produced through proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain of GHR. The presence of GHBP is significant as reduced levels are linked to growth hormone insensitivity syndrome, highlighting GHR′s importance in maintaining normal physiological functions. GHR is transcribed from at least two different promoters, resulting in two isoforms, GHR 1A and GHR 1B, both of which are expressed in the liver, while GHR 1B is also found in muscle, uterus, and ovary tissues, indicating diverse roles in various biological processes. Anti-GHR antibody (MAB 1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying growth hormone signaling and its implications in growth disorders and metabolic diseases.
