DP2 Antibody (BM16) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DP2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). DP2, also known as CRTH2 (chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells), is a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a pivotal role in mediating prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) effects in various physiological and pathological processes. DP2 is predominantly located on specific types of white blood cells, including Th2 cells, eosinophils, and basophils, which are crucial for orchestrating immune responses. DP2 localization on these immune cells allows for targeted regulation of allergic and inflammatory responses, particularly in conditions such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. Upon PGD2 activation, DP2 initiates signaling events that promote Th2 cell chemotaxis, leading to production of key cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13, which are essential for Th2-type immune response development. DP2′s importance in immune regulation and inflammation highlights potential as a pharmacological target for therapeutic intervention in related disorders, making anti-DP2 antibody (BM16) an invaluable tool for studying these critical pathways.
