COL6A Antibody (3C4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the COL6A protein of human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). COL6A (3C4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COL6A protein is a crucial component of the extracellular matrix, primarily found in connective tissues, where COL6A plays a significant role in providing structural support and strength. COL6A belongs to the collagen family, characterized by a unique triple helix structure that allows for stable fibril formation. This structural integrity is vital for proper functioning of tissues such as tendons, cartilage, and skin, helping maintain elasticity and resilience under mechanical stress. COL6A interacts with other proteins in the extracellular matrix, contributing to cell adhesion and signaling pathways essential for tissue repair and regeneration. COL6A′s ability to form complexes with other collagens and matrix proteins underscores COL6A′s importance in maintaining normal tissue architecture and function, making COL6A a key target for research in various pathological conditions, including fibrosis and muscular dystrophies.
