Growth Arrest Specific 2 Like 1, commonly abbreviated as GAS2L1, is a member of the GAS2 family of proteins which are known for their role in the regulation of the cell cycle and cytoskeleton organization. This evolutionarily conserved protein family is characterized by the presence of a Gas2-related domain that interacts with microtubules and is implicated in the coordination of cell proliferation and apoptosis.

GAS2L1 itself is particularly interesting due to its involvement in the stabilization of the microtubule network as well as its role in cytokinesis, the final step of cell division where the cell splits into two daughter cells.
