Zuotin-1 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Zuotin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Zuotin-1 antibody (A-12) is available as the non-conjugated form. Zuotin-1, also known as DnaJ homolog subfamily C member 2 or M-phase phosphoprotein 11, plays a crucial role in cellular protein homeostasis as a ribosome-associated DnaJ molecular chaperone. Zuotin-1 contains one J domain and two SANT domains, which are essential for assisting proper folding of nascent polypeptides and preventing protein aggregation. Zuotin-1′s importance lies in its interaction with the HSP 70 chaperone machinery, where Zuotin-1 stimulates ATP hydrolysis, facilitating the protein folding process. This interaction is vital for maintaining cellular function, especially under stress conditions, as Zuotin-1 helps ensure proteins achieve correct conformation and function. Additionally, the presence of cysteine-rich regions and zinc finger motifs within the DnaJ family members enhances their ability to bind and stabilize unfolded proteins, making Zuotin-1 a key player in the cellular response to misfolded proteins.
