ZP2 Antibody (IE-3) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ZP2 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-ZP2 antibody (IE-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZP2 protein plays a crucial role in the fertilization process, acting as a secondary sperm receptor that binds sperm only after the sperm acrosome reaction has been induced. This interaction facilitates the initial binding of sperm to the oocyte, which is essential for successful fertilization. The zona pellucida, a glycoprotein matrix surrounding the oocyte, contains ZP2 along with ZP1 and ZP3, and during this process ZP2 undergoes proteolytic cleavage, which is a significant post-translational modification that alters its function. Understanding the dynamics of ZP2 and its interactions is important for elucidating the mechanisms of fertilization and potential fertility treatments.

Are there any issues with using sc-32752: ZP2 (IE-3) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-32752 conjugates.
