Zic2 Antibody (3C12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Zic2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Zic2 antibody (3C12) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. Zic2 (3C12) antibody recognizes zinc finger protein of the cerebellum 2, which plays a crucial role as a transcription factor in forebrain development, influencing gene expression essential for neural differentiation and patterning. Zic2 (3C12) monoclonal antibody targets a protein that functions as a transcriptional repressor in regulating tissue-specific expression of dopamine receptor D1, vital for proper neuronal signaling and function. Zic2 transcript is predominantly found in the dorsal neural tube and spinal cord, as well as in the hindbrain, highlighting its significance in early neural development. A polymorphism in the polyhistidine tract of Zic2 has been associated with increased risk of neural tube defects, underscoring its importance in developmental processes. Zic2 is closely linked to zinc finger protein of the cerebellum 5, a related family member located on chromosome 13, suggesting potential functional interactions that may further elucidate its role in neurodevelopmental pathways.
