XBP-1 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects XBP-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). XBP-1 Antibody (F-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. XBP-1, also known as tax-responsive element-binding protein 5 (TREB5) in mouse and human, or hepatocarcinogenesis-related transcription factor (HTF) in rat, is a crucial member of the basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) family of transcription factors. XBP-1 plays a vital role in the cellular stress response, particularly in the unfolded protein response (UPR), which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis under stress conditions. XBP-1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where XBP-1 regulates the expression of genes involved in protein folding and degradation, thereby ensuring proper cellular function and survival. XBP-1 expression is particularly high in developing bone, indicating involvement in osteoblast differentiation and function. XBP-1 has been shown to interact with various proteins, including other transcription factors and components of the UPR, highlighting importance in cellular signaling pathways. XBP-1 binding to cAMP responsive elements (CRE) and TPA response elements (TREs) further underscores a role in activating transcription of critical genes, making XBP-1 a significant target for research in areas such as cancer and metabolic diseases.

Hi there, I am hoping to find out if this antibody detects both XBP1u and XBP1s, or only XBP1s? Thanks in advance.

Dear Customer Service, I got interested in this antibody because it was referenced in a Caenorhabditis elegans-specific database. Is there any data supporting a crossreaction with the C. elegans XBP-1 protein?

Asked by: c elegans
Thank you for your question. Anti-XBP-1 Antibody (F-4) is only recommended for detection of XBP-1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. We have not tested it with C. elegans samples and cannot say whether the antibody detect its target protein of that origin, unfortunately. There is very little homology between the sequence of C. elegans protein and mouse protein, so cross-reactivity is very unlikely.

Hi, I am looking for XBP1 antibody for Chip assay with mouse cells. XBP1 antibody (M186) was discontinued. Do you have any data demonstrating XBP-1 Antibody (F-4) sc-8015 works well for Chip assay with mouse cells? Any guarantee?Thank you.

Asked by: Toru
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested in a ChIP application, and there are no references that we are aware of at this time for ChIP. It is, however, warrantied for ChIP use.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-8015 X be used instead of the standard form sc-8015?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
