XAF1 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects XAF1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). XAF1 Antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP)-associated factor 1 (XAF1) plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis by inhibiting the anti-apoptotic activity of XIAP, a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family that prevents programmed cell death by inhibiting caspases. XAF1 promotes apoptosis in cells, particularly in cancer, where low XAF1 expression can lead to enhanced survival of malignant cells due to increased XIAP activity. XAF1 is predominantly expressed in the heart and ovary, with transcripts of varying lengths (3.9-, 4.5-, 6.0-, and 7.0-kb) detected at high levels in these tissues. Additionally, interferon-alpha and interferon-beta activate the human XAF1 gene, highlighting XAF1′s role in immune responses, as XAF1 maps to chromosome 17p13.2, suggesting a potential link between XAF1 expression and apoptosis regulation in immune cells.

Does this or any of your Xaf1 antibodies react with mouse protein??

Asked by: BrianS
Thank you for your question. Anti-XAF1 Antibody (B-5): sc-398012 is only recommended for detection of XAF1 of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. We currently do not recommend any of our XAF-1 antibodies for use with murine samples.
