XAB1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects XAB1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). XAB1 (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. XAB1, also known as XPA binding protein 1, MBDIN, NTPBP, ATPBD1A, or HUSSY-23, is a 374 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in protein synthesis and assembly. XAB1 is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in testis, and interacts with RNA polymerase II-associated proteins RPAP1-3 and XPA, a key player in DNA repair mechanisms. This interaction positions XAB1 at the interface of RNA polymerase II, facilitating involvement in protein complex formation and chaperoning activities. XAB1 structure includes a cluster of acidic amino acids in its C-terminal region and sequences resembling those of GTP-binding proteins in its N-terminal region, indicating potential GTPase activity, which may further enhance functional versatility in cellular processes.
