SEE ALSO...

WRP Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects WRP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WRP (E-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The WAVE-associated Rac GTPase-activating protein (WRP), also known as SLIT-ROBO Rho GTPase-activating protein 3 (srGAP3) and Mental disorder-activating GAP (MEGAP), is a 1099 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one FCH domain, one Rho-GAP domain, and one SH3 domain. WRP is predominantly expressed in the brain, with lower expression levels found in the kidney, and plays a crucial role in regulating cell migration through interactions with signaling proteins Cdc42 and Rac1. By downregulating Cdc42 and Rac1 activity, WRP impairs actin and microtubule dynamics, which are essential for cellular protrusion formation and overall cell migration. Defects in the gene encoding WRP have been associated with severe idiopathic mental retardation, highlighting WRP′s significance in neurodevelopmental processes. Three isoforms of WRP arise from alternative splicing events, which may contribute to functional diversity in various cellular contexts.
