WDR77 Antibody (FG-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects WDR77 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WDR77, also known as MEP50, is a 342 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of five WD-repeats, which are essential for its role in the early assembly of U small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs). WDR77 is a critical component of a methyltransferase complex that includes protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5), which catalyzes the conversion of arginine residues to dimethylarginines in spliceosomal Sm proteins. This post-translational modification facilitates the targeting of Sm proteins to the survival of motor neurons (SMN) complex, where they are incorporated into ribonucleoprotein core particles essential for RNA processing and splicing.
